About the Role

We are currently looking to recruit a supervisor to join our TouchBase Glasgow Adult Day Service in Kinning Park.  We are looking for a qualified practitioner with strong experience of working directly with people who have complex health care or communication needs and can guide, lead and motivate a team to deliver high-quality person-centred care, leading by example of best social care practice.

For this post we require candidates to be able to register with SSSC as a Supervisor and you would be required to hold and SVQ 3 Social Care or be just about to obtain this for registration.

Some of the individuals we support might only be engaging with others by attendance at TouchBase Glasgow. This is their place to internally socialise and enjoy the hobbies they love, and we need to make sure this is a positive environment from the moment they enter the service until it is time for them to go home.

As Supervisor, you will have a key role in the day-to-day delivery of the service through providing direct support to individuals and ensuring the team contribute to and follow agreed support plans.  You will be allocated link tasks to support the overall quality of the service.  Each team has dedicated staff and a growing bank of relief staff who get to know the people supported well as they cover for training, annual leave etc.

About You

 This role could be for you if:

  • You have experience with working in large, flexible teams within a social care setting
  • You can be flexible- able to work days, evenings, weekends, night shift
  • You have experience of supporting culture change in the work environment
  • You have strong IT and office organisation skills
  • You have excellent knowledge and experience of person-centred practice
  • You have the ability to coach and mentor staff
  • You can challenge poor or unsafe practice and to champion good practice and person-centred support for the individuals’ using services.
  • You have excellent communication skills to relay complex and challenging information
  • You hold an SVQ Level 3 in Social Care (or other specialty recognised by the SSSC for registration purposes and must be able to meet and maintain the appropriate SSSC registration requirements and conditions for a Supervisor in a Care at Home / Housing Support Service.

About You
As a HR Advisor, your main aim will be to provide invaluable HR support and guidance to colleagues across Scotland by developing and maintaining efficient and effective administrative processes, procedures and systems for HR activities in the relevant areas. You’ll work closely with HR Business Partners and Services to support case management resolution, interface with our employee representatives and as well as driving our People Strategy forwards.

  • Ability to produce high quality, accurate work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to respond quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances.
  • An understanding of employment law in practice.

Could you be a Sense Support Worker? 

Sense has a great opportunity for a Support Worker to join our residential service in Kingstanding, Birmingham.

This is a permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week.

You will join a fantastic team at our service in Kingstanding, where you will be supporting an extremely active young adult with autism on a 1:1 basis.

The individual will be going to college 3 times a week and will also need support when taking part in exciting activities such as rock climbing, ice skating, swimming and walking on his days off at various locations.

We are looking for a Support Worker who is a calm, enthusiastic and confident person who can think independently and build good relationships with the residents, staff and professionals.

Although you will be supporting the young adult on a 1:1 basis, you will need to support other individuals at the service as and when required.  The individuals we support have a range of complex needs, including sensory loses and learning disabilities.

There are many benefits of working at our service in Kingstanding, full training will be given once you are successful, and you will only be required to work one full weekend every three weeks.

The shifts vary throughout the week and the shift pattern at this service are as follows: 7am-2.30pm, 2pm-9.30pm and sleep-in shift is from 9:15pm-7:15am. The sleep-in shift expectation would be once per week.

It’s an exciting time as Sense now have an opportunity for a Support Worker to join our service in Leeds. This is a Permanent role, working 37.5 hours per week.

The successful candidate will support five adult individuals in our residential service, these individuals have dual sensory needs and disabilities, we are here to support and promote their independence, choice and enhance inclusion in the community. The duties are varied and no two days will be the same. The people we support are individuals and they are all treated as such. As a general guide, you may support with personal care needs, as well as help to take part in a wide range of special interests and activities that support their health and wellbeing. You may accompany/participate in leisure activities of the person’s choice, for example collecting benefits, gym, swimming, accessing banks, attending groups, pubs, shopping, rally’s, day trips etc.

The main purpose of your role is to support people to be as involved as possible in every part of their day to day lives so that they can be full and active members of society. You will work within the framework of the Sense’ I Statements, some of which are: To keep the needs of the people you are supporting, at the centre of your attention at all times, Enable the people you support to influence their services and the way they are supported, Help Sense to provide a high-quality service to meet all peoples needs such as personal care, cleaning, cooking, laundry, activities, To uphold dignity and respect at all times, work well within a team.

Salary: £10.02 per hour (Pay award to £10.50 pending)
Contract: Full time, part time and relief contracts available

We pay our Support Workers £10.02 per hour. We currently have a £10.50 per hour pay award pending which will be applied from 1st April 2022. You’ll also qualify for a £250 incentive to stay bonus once you’ve successfully completed your first 6 months of employment with us!

About the Role

Mosspark provides support to 2 ladies living in a semi-detached house with great garden space. We provide a warm and friendly living and working environment. Communication is at the heart of everything we do and we tailor our support to meet the needs of the individual. As part of our team, you will provide one to one support to adults with various complex needs and who do not always communicate through speech. It is crucial to build relationships through trust. This is not without its challenges but it’s safe to say that the role is hugely rewarding. But don’t take our word for it…

What the shifts look like

We offer 24-hour support, 365 days of the year. We work flexibly and you will join the team on a rota basis. The shifts comprise a mix of early shifts (07.30 – 14.30), late shifts (14.30 – 21.30) and a quota of sleep over duties. We also have a dedicated night team who deliver wakened support from 21.30 – 07.30.
